11th Annual Blackbeard Pirate Festival Returns During Hampton, Virginia’s 400th Anniversary Weekend July 9-11, 2010
Beginning July 9- 11, 2010, roughly 50,000 seafaring attendees, as well as Blackbeard and his crew, will once again invade downtown Hampton in search of booty during the 11th annual Blackbeard Pirate Festival! Interact with Blackbeard (personified by first person interpreter Ben Cherry) and more than 100 other authentically costumed pirate re-enactors as they run rampant on the cobblestone streets of America’s oldest continuously English speaking settlement.

Most beautiful beaches on Hvar

It is located on the Dalmatian coast, perfumed by the scent of lavender and one of the most beautiful places in Croatia: the island Hvar! Favourite getaway ever since the Romans. The most popular beaches of the island Hvar are situated on the "Pakleni" islands. The name of these about twenty islets extends along the south side of Hvar can be translated as "hellish" and could stand for "hellish good". This tiny archipelago is the most beautiful part of the whole Hvar riviera. It is very easy to reach by taking a frequent taxi boat from the harbour, just outside the Arsenal. Sv. Jerolim - is a very well-known and approved naturist beach. The coast of this islet is predominantly rocky, with also nice small pebbled beaches. The vegetation is a mixture of scrub and pine groves, so if you pick your spot carefully you get the possibility to get plenty of shade in the heat of the afternoon, with the sea at immediate vicinity if you want to cool off. There are also a good restaurant and showers.

Marinkovac is an island where you can choose between wearing your swimsuit or loosing it.It is partly nudist and has three popular coves. One of these coves is called Stipanska. It is the first one where taxi boats stop. You can enjoy beautiful nature during a short walk trough the pinewood which leads you to a nice restaurant. You can also find a small shop, showers and naturist section. The other two coves are -Zdrilica- which has a very nice restaurant often visited by yacht crowd. -Mlin- cove is a wonderful bay with a beautiful pebbled beach.

The island Sv. Klement is the largest one in the Pakleni archipelago. It takes around 20 minutes to reach it by taxi boat. People often visit Palmizana on this island, because it is a spacious and the most popular cove with a great shingle beach. Palmizana is surrounded by a beautiful thick pine forest, fragrant heather and rosemary and a grat number of exotic plants. You will also find a great choise of restaurants, which are Meneghello, Novak and Zori. There is also a yacht marina. But this is not the only cove which is worth to be visited, there are some other coves on the island Sv. Klement (St.Clement) , like Vlaka or Soline. If you like it calm and want to avoid the crowd to relax, just take a walk around the island and find the best place for yourself. Most beaches and coves on the island are clothing optional.
